Timeout or Connection Error
If the Resources from the Nodinite Windows Server Monitoring Agent are listed with the state Error and the Log Text is: Connection Error it might be due to one of the following reasons:
Common Problems
- There is a Network connection problem between the Nodinite Monitoring Service and the installed instance of the Nodinite Windows Server Monitoring Agent.
- There is a Network connection problem between the installed instance of the Nodinite Windows Server Monitoring Agent and one or more of the configured Windows Servers to monitor.
- The number of configured Windows Servers monitored from the Agent is simply too many, and the default timeout to fetch monitoring information is exceeded.
- Ensure the ports are allowed by firewalls.
Common Solutions
- Investigate the network for connection problems, if allowed, try to ping or use a telnet session.
- If you have not planned to add more servers to monitor, you can always try to increase the Timeout for the agent. If more servers are planned to be added for monitoring: Try to split the monitored servers to several installed instances of this agent.
- Make sure firewalls allow the traffic; both the software and hardware.
