Nodinite Installation Overview

Tip

Are you eager to get started1? Contact one of our existing Partners, or contact us at info@nodinite.com for guidance and recommendations to quickly get you started.

Nodinite is a software product that must be installed and configured with one instance for each customer. Each instance is unique and guarantees access rights, data isolation and performance.

Nodinite uses many software components with varying requirements depending on requirements for the intended usage, like security policies, high availability, performance and network isolation:

Features

From the Install and Update tool, an administrator Installs new instances, performs Updates, and manages access rights.

Execution with a small footprint

  • Single box - Run everything on a single server (a perfect fit for POCs and if you only have Monitoring needs)
    • local virtual machine on-premise or in the cloud (simple and with low costs)

Enterprise-grade installations

  • Run everything everywhere with multiple distributed environments mixed with different domains, networks, on-premise, and/or in the cloud:
    • Additional CPUs and memory generally increase performance. Nodinite uses many concurrent threads and benefits from the additional CPUs.
    • High availability - Use a Windows failover cluster.
    • SQL Server failover cluster and/or Always-on.
      • Use multiple disks/LUNs to increase the SQL Server performance.

Install and Update Tool

With the Nodinite Install and Update tool, you can manage all configured Nodinite instances. The main benefit for our Partners with Managed Services is less administration, easier onboarding and fewer tools; hence fewer costs.

Info

Many of our customers have chosen to separate the different environments fully, using one instance of the Install and Update Tool for each Environment.

To reach the Web-based tool, try the default address http://localhost/NodiniteUpdate/UpdateClient/ (The actual address can always be found in the IIS MMC). Package Management Overview
