BPM Overview

Get started now: How to Add or manage BPM user guide.

The BPM Overview in the Repository Model main menu is where a Nodinite Administrator manages Business Process Models (BPMs).

BPMs are part of the Repository Model and are a key feature of Nodinite. There is a specific page for the Business Process Model (BPM) topic. Make sure to read and understand the basic concepts before continuing.

In the BPM Overview, you will find a sortable list of defined Business Process Models to manage. An extensive list of BPMs can swiftly be narrowed down to target by typing characters into the filter text box.

Frequently asked questions / Troubleshooting

You can create new, edit and delete Business Process Models using the Nodinite Web Client.

How do I create a new BPM?

Read and follow the instructions in this user guide: 'Add or manage BPM'.

What is the BPM Designer?

The BPM Designer is a visual tool within Nodinite that lets you create swimlane-based process diagrams with Domains as horizontal rows and process steps as columns. Each cell can contain one or more Services tied to Resources for real-time monitoring and remote actions.

How do BPMs relate to Log Views?

BPMs can be associated with Log Views to provide milestone-based logging and process tracking. This enables you to see grouped log events organized by business process steps and domains, making it easy to understand process state and history.

Can I use BPMs for monitoring?

Yes! Each Service in a BPM cell is tied to Resources, which provide real-time operational status and Remote Actions. You can monitor service health and take action directly from the BPM Designer or associated Log Views.

Can I add Custom Metadata to BPMs?

Yes! New 7.2 Starting with Nodinite 7.2.0, you can enrich BPMs with Custom Metadata to document ownership, SLAs, compliance requirements, and business context. This helps teams capture institutional knowledge directly on process models. See Add or manage Custom Metadata for details.
