Frequently asked questions

Additional solutions to common problems and the Nodinite Logging Service FAQ exist in the Troubleshooting user guide.

Why does it take so long time for the Logging Service to stop/restart?

This service might take a few seconds to stop/restart since the threads may be busy finishing off work in progress. For example:

  • In the middle of processing a batch (loop)
  • Shrinking a database (this operation can take many minutes to complete)
  • Transitionally inserting data from BizTalk (depending on the size of the BizTalk DTA database this operation can take 0-5 minutes to run)

It's perfectly normal if this process takes < 120 seconds to stop. A very busy and overloaded Logging Service may get you into trouble when updating Nodinite.
Make sure to update during minimal load (a planned maintenance window)
